User Tutorial

 Selecting Your Playlist

There are two ways to create a playlist.  Either will work, but most users prefer the second option.

Option 1 – Preferred by users who like to create a fresh playlist with every workout.

Press the “MUSIC” tab on the bottom task bar. Once on this screen, press the “PLAYLIST” button at the top right.  This will bring up all the songs currently in your library.

Every song you press from this screen will be added to your playlist.  When you finish selecting your songs, just press “DONE” at the top and return to the workout screen by pressing the “RUN” icon on the bottom task bar.

Note:  If you try to go back in and add more songs to a playlist once you have pressed “DONE”, the old playlist you created is automatically deleted and you have to start over…which is why most users prefer Option 2.

Option 2 – For users who prefer to listen to the same playlist on a regular basis.

Exit out of the 5K101 App and open up your music library on your iPod (the Big Orange Button in the photo).

While inside your music library, create a brand new playlist and name it 5K101.

Then go back to the 5K101 App and follow the same steps as in Option 1, except in this case, instead of selecting individual songs, just select the 5K101 playlist that you just created.

Any time you want to add or delete songs from your playlist, just do it from the library (not from 5K101).

Setting a Power Song

A Power Song is one that really gets you pumped up.  It helps you dig deep and find one last dose of adrenaline to get you over a hill, across the finish line, or through the last few minutes of a tough workout.

To set your power song, visit the music tab on the lower task bar of the 5K101 App and press the power song button at the top left.

This brings up your library and you just need to scroll through until you find that perfect song and press it.  That’s all there is to it.

When you are ready to listen to that song during a workout, press the Lightning Bolt icon from the Run screen.  Your power song will automatically play, and when that song ends the previous song will resume.

Selecting a Workout

To select a workout, just click Settings from the lower task bar, and use the scroll bar to select the specific Week & Day that you want to start from.

From this same tab you can choose to keep or turn off the mid-run audio notifications such as “two minutes left”, etc.

You can also toggle music on or off in case you are using a treadmill and prefer to watch TV instead of listen to music.

Posting to Facebook & Twitter

When you finish a workout, you can post your success to Facebook & Twitter by clicking those icons from the Status page.  In order for this to work, you need to allow the 5K101 App to access your accounts.

Don’t worry, the App will not post anything without your permission.  Nor will it have any other access to your account or personal information.
