Welcome to the Running Mate 5K101 Couch to 5K Training Program!
Hi! My name is Todd Lange, your “virtual coach”, & let me be the first to welcome you to 5K101! You are going to love this program!
5K101 is a simple, “Couch to 5K” podcast training program which you can download directly to your iPod or any other mp3 player, and it’s a totally free download from iTunes.
This is an 8 week running training program where you download each weekly workout, go for a run and hit play. From there you will receive audible coaching on exactly when to run and when to walk so as to stay on a pace that will help you to prevent injury and give you the best chance for success as a beginning runner.
The process really is as simple as it sounds and it will have you running in almost no time. I would encourage you to join our facebook fan page to link in with other beginners and graduates of the program for more advice and encouragement along the way…and be sure to check out some of the reviews that others have left on iTunes if you’re still not sure!

If you’ve already completed your 5K training, you might consider training for a 10K instead. If so, be sure to check out the Running Mate 10K101 training program as well!

- Just finished W2D1 and I had a great time. I was a little bit worried about being able to add in the extra 30 seconds of jogging and one more interval, but I didn’t notice a difference!

Yay!!!!!!! - Started w8 by RUNNING my first 5k….EVER! Even though I didn’t have my ipod, I could still hear Todd saying, “Keep it up. You’re doing great. Don’t look know but you just ran your first 5k.” Thanks, Todd!
- OMG Todd!! I just did week 7 for the second time (I intend to do it for 2 weeks) and it was the best run I have EVER had!!! I KILLED IT!! I even went up to 6.0 the last 4 minutes!! It’s like my body and mind are really accepting this thing.
When I got done I just couldn’t find enough people to tell, it feels so amazing!!!!! - Just finished w3 d1…kicked my butt and I wanted to quit about 1/2 way through, but I finished it! Stepped on the scale after lost some pounds and my BMI dropped too…great reward for a tough workout!
